Hello Oldies Lovers,
I didn't get the opportunity to do a blog yesterday so I thought I'd post 2 singles in this Monday edition.
The first single is the Five Satins 2nd release on the Cub record label, the Barry Mann penned pop doowop "A Beggar With A Dream". According to 45cat.com this single was released in October of 1960. The flip side is a great vocal group ballad called "These Foolish Things" making this a great 2-sided gem.

Cub K9077-B - The Five Satins - These Foolish Things (1960)
Today's second featured single is another nice 2-sider that would probably best be categorized in the teen or rockabilly department. Released in 1959 on the Lode record label, "You Hold The Key" is a beautiful teen rock-a-ballad while the B-side, "Changing Schools" has a great teen beat. I could find no information to share about the singer, Robin Rocket, but it appears to have been his sole release. The Lode release came out in November 1959 and Warner Bros. picked it up for national release in April 1960 (Warner Bros. 5155) and released it under the name of Robin Rockett.

As a special bonus I thought I'd give a sneak peek of one of the videos I created which will be featured in this month's debut edition of my "After School Records" audio/visual presentations, which will be exclusive content for my Patreon Page Silver and Gold Plan Subscribers.
For the benefit of those who never saw this audio/video series, I have a complimentary old edition which you can see on my "Malt Shop Jukebox" You Tube Channel here:
The new series will be improved and the videos hosted on my Patreon Page. Silver Plan Members will have access to watch the videos while Gold Plan Members can download a copy. There will be 1 new volume every month.
So here's the sneak peek video of the great teen ballad "Heavenly Dream" by James Pastell, released circa 1967 on the Americana record label featuring Tony & Maria's dance scene from the film classic "West Side Story". I hope you enjoy it!
That's it for today! I hope you enjoyed the singles and video.
